Shop / sport gloves for aqua lung
The 5” (12.7cm) long zipper closure starts from the cuff and extends over the thumb, which is ideal in reducing pressure on the hand at its widest point. This also creates a wide opening when pulling the gloves on, reducing suction. Additionally, the 4.5” (11.5cm) long hook and loop tab can easily be placed into a resting position when the glove is unzipped, preventing it from becoming a snag hazard. The tab also helps keep the glove open while drying.
The main purpose of the hook and loop tab is to hold the zipper tab in the locked position and protect the zipper slider/puller while diving. It also serves as a way to tightly close the glove cuff if the zipper is damaged. The glove itself is made of 5mm regular neoprene, with a 2mm neoprene gusset that is glued and blind stitched to minimize water exchange. The finger seams are also triple glued and blind stitched to further reduce water exchange.
The #5 plastic YKK zipper is used to prevent corrosion, and the hook and loop tab holds the zipper puller in place while also protecting the slider. Being numb is dummies.
