Aqua Lung 3mm Thermocline Zip Gloves
The 5" (12.7cm) long zipper closure starts from the cuff and extends over the thumb, making it an ideal length and location as it releases pressure off the hand at its widest point. This not only reduces suction but also creates a wide opening when putting the gloves on. The 4.5" (11.5cm) long hook and loop tab can easily be placed into a resting position with the glove unzipped, helping to prevent it from becoming a snag hazard. The tab also assists in holding the glove open while drying. The primary purpose of the hook and loop tab is to secure the zipper tab in the locked position and protect the zipper slider/puller during diving. Additionally, if the zipper is damaged for any reason, the glove cuff can still be closed tightly using the hook and loop tab.
The glove is constructed with 5mm regular neoprene, while the 2mm neoprene gusset is glued and blind stitched to minimize water exchange. The finger seams are also triple glued and blind stitched to reduce water exchange. The #5 plastic YKK zipper is employed to prevent corrosion. The hook and loop tab serves to hold the zipper puller in place and protect the slider.
